Camping Trip

June 21st-23rd 2013

We did our annual camping trip with the Powell's this year and it was so much fun!  We went camping up Hobble Creek Canyon and it was a really nice spot. We roasted marshmallows, made s'mores, went on hikes, rode the razor, (and of course Ryan had to roll it!) found a geo cache, threw rocks in the river and we only had one person fall in!  It was one of the best camping trips yet!

St. George Iron Man

Friday May 3rd

Back in May, Weston's twin brother Rus was competing in the St. George Iron Man.  He's done it for a couple years and we had never seen him do it yet.  So I convinced Weston at the last minute that we should take the weekend and go watch him.  Wes even took half a day off work on Friday so we could leave earlier.  That was actually a big deal.  Wes is such a hard worker he never takes days off!  So we packed the kids up and headed down to St. George again.  Rus and Kristy had that condo that we stayed in when we went down a few months earlier and they let us stay with them.  It was lots of fun and the kids loved hanging and having a sleep over with Kyanna. 

Here we are one the drive down.  Brynn is there next to Makenna but she is still facing backwards in her baby car seat and she was asleep.

When we first got there we had dinner with Rus and Kristy and then we went and drove around to see the Iron Man stuff.  Then we just went back and put the kids to bed.  Then that morning we got ready and went down to see Rus in the race.  We were still parking when he came in on his bike so we actually missed him there which was a bummer.  Oh well though.  So then we just hung out and waited tell we saw him run in.  It was lots of fun to watch everyone as they competed. 

After the race we went over to Cam and Savannah's parent's condo and went swimming.  Brynn did not like the water at all and screamed and cried every time we tried to get her in.  But Makenna and Kason had fun so that was good.

Then on Sunday before we headed back home, the kids wanted to go hike around Pioneer Park again.  They loved it last time so we stopped there as we were leaving.

It was the best last minute vacation and hopefully we can do something like that again!
 

St. George with the Southwicks

For Becky's 60th birthday some of the brothers planned a surprise birthday weekend in St. George that of course, ended up not being a surprise.  So it was pretty lame pretending that it was a surprise when it really wasn't but oh well.  So we went down Friday night and came back Sunday.  We stayed in a house with Rus, Kristy and their girls and we were right next door to Cody and his family so it was lots of fun.  We went shopping, swimming and hiking.  It was so much fun that we decided to go back down 2 months later!  But here are some pics.

Las Vegas Weekend

February 1st 2013

Since Weston had been working down in Vegas all winter I was able to go down one weekend and see him.  His brother Cam and his wife Savannah were going down to celebrate her 21st birthday so I grabbed a ride with them.  It was so nice to get a weekend away and spend time with Weston.  We stayed in his company's house and had a nice weekend in the warm Vegas air.  We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, went to a movie Les Meserable and did some shopping.  It was a fun weekend.  These pictures aren't very great because they are just from my phone.  I didn't even think to pack a real camera!

Thanks Cam and Savannah for letting me be the third wheel on the drive down and back and thanks to my mom for watching the kids so I could go.  It was a very needed vacation and I had so much fun!  (Wes on the other hand would have rather come home and seen the kids!)
