Brynn 10 months
December 21st 2012
I love to take pictures of the kids each month to see how their faces change so I'm pretty sure these are Brynn's 10 month pics. At 10 months she was rolling around like crazy! She still wasn't crawling but she could get anywhere she wanted to go. She would roll, roll, roll and then she would reposition herself to go a different direction and start rolling again. It was really funny to watch and she was super fast! One day at Grandma Powell's house she rolled right past Grandma and Amy and grabbed the train of the train track. That was such a fun stage. I loved watching her get to where she wanted to go.
The pictures are never that great. Between my camera and a moving baby I have such a hard time. But I figure it's better than nothing and it's still fun to see them grow month by month. So here is Brynn at 10 months! Such a cutie pie! I just can't get enough of her!

Elf on the Shelf
December 2012
I thought for Christmas it would be fun to do the whole Elf on a Shelf thing. It was lots of fun but we had a really rough December so it was hard to keep up with him. Wes was in Vegas so I was doing it by myself during the week and we were lucky enough to get the rota virus. Yuck! So every Friday for 3 weeks in a row I had a puking kid. And it would continue for about 5-7 days until the next one came down with it. It. Was. Awful. But we survived (barely). So back to the Elf, he came to our house on December 1st and the kids had so much fun when they saw him. They gave him his name and would talk to him occasionally. I wish I could remember his name right now but since it is now May, I have forgotten. (When he comes back in December I will have to come back and write down his name).
It was lots of fun seeing where he would be the next morning after he reported to Santa at the North Pole. Since Wes was out of town I wanted him to see some of the crazy things he was doing so I took a few pictures when I could remember. Here are some of the pics of our Elf.
So it was something fun to do and I don't know if he will come every year but it was fun to have him come and keep his eyes on the kids. I really think it helped the kids behave and I really needed that extra help!
Update: Makenna said to me the other day, "I sure miss Rex. I can't wait tell he comes back again." So now I know his name! It's Rex!

This is when he showed up in our family room
He toilet papered our tree!
He hung out with Kason!
He got into our cookies and Kason was VERY upset about it! He was in tears when he found our Elf.
Hanging out watching tv with us
Taking a bubble bath at Barbie's house
Sliding down our banister. He was being kind of naughty!
Makenna really wanted a star on top of our tree and our Elf found out so he made us one and put it up for us. He was a very nice Elf. :)
Riding Cinderella's horse
Sliding down a zip line with a candy cane
I had a diet coke left out on the kitchen table and he decided to go and sneak a drink but I caught him! The kids really loved that one and thought it was funny.

Makenna's Christmas Recital
December 8th 2012
This year Makenna has been taking dance at the Dance Depot and at Jazz N Place on a competing team. And at JNP they do a Christmas recital that is fun to go and watch. They just perform their dance that they will use at competitions and it is to the song from Tangled. Here are a couple pictures from the Christmas Recital. (not the best quality they are from my phone but at least its somthing!)

It's Christmas Time!
November 23rd 2012
I love Christmas and I love putting up all our cute Christmas decorations. Putting up and decorating the Christmas tree is one of my favorite traditions. Weston puts the tree up, the kids decorate it and I sit back and watch and take pictures! It is so much fun! I love how excited the kids get and how much fun they have. So here are some pictures of the kids decorating.
Aren't they so cute! And I just love how the top half is so sparse! I did go around and move a few ornaments up and then we actually ended up moving more of them so Brynn couldn't get them!

Weston's 31st Birthday
November 28th 2012
I love to celebrate other peoples birthdays just about as much as I like to celebrate my own! There is always great food, presents and activities to do. And I love to celebrate Weston's birthday because I get a date out of it! So this year we got a babysitter and went out to dinner. I can't remember all the presents that he got but I do know Makenna picked him out a new tie, Kason wanted to get him church socks and Brynn got him the Imagine Dragons c.d.. Kind of a different assortment of presents but he loved them anyways. The kids where really excited to pick them all out for him. Here he is dressed in his new church attire and jamming out with Imagine Dragons. Not for sure that those go together very well :)

Mom's a blonde
April 2013
So this is a little story that happened last week. (April) We were at Ryan and Cammy's celebrating Zack's 3rd birthday. They had cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and they had all the sauces and toppings like you get at Jdogs. (I'm not exactly sure what it is but apparently it's a hot dog joint) We were all sitting around eating and Kason and Makenna had finished their dinners but had asked for some pickels. So I went over to the relish plate and I made some little plates of pickles and took them back to the kids. They were eating them and all of a sudden Kason picks up a pickle and asks "what's this mom?" I looked and I said it's a pickle. So he popped it in his mouth and all of a sudden he starts crying and Gavin looks at me and says, "Katy, that's not a pickle that's a jalapeno." AAAHHHHHH! I was dying! I had just given him a jalapeno! I told him spit it out, spit it out! But it was too late he had chewed it up and swallowed already. Poor kid. He kept trying to wipe his tongue off and he was crying because it was so hot.
Apparently since I don't eat or buy pickles I don't even know what they look like! I'm pretty sure Kason's not going to eat them any time soon either! Sorry bud!

Snow Fun!
I don't even know if these pictures are November or December but the kids were so excited for snow. They just had to go out and play. So we got them bundled up and sent them out. They sure had as lot of fun! The first snow fall is always so much fun!
November
Clear back in November I'm not 100% sure of everything that went on but I do know that we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Powell family and we had DELICIOUS food! I loved it! We had cranberries, the best stuffing in the world and I made an apple pie. And actually the pie wasn't that great! I had made it once before and it turned out amazingly so I thought I could do it again. But I was wrong. I do know what I did wrong so hopefully next time I need to make one it will be so much better! And then after Thanksgiving I met up with my good high school friend Nicole and we went Black Friday shopping. It was so crazy and so much fun! And the last thing I remember about November was that Weston had a job kick off in Las Vegas so he left us on Monday and headed to Nevada. That was the beginning of a very long, hard winter. He was lucky enough to come home on the weekends (very late Friday night - Sunday afternoon) but that made for late nights, lots of driving and a lot of chaos. You would think that the kids would love having there dad home on the weekends but they seemed to act up, be very whiny and then they were so sad when he had to leave. It was hard but we survived (barely) and life is great now with him back!
I'm Back!!!
So after about 5 months of no blogging I am going to attempt to start this up again. I really miss it and I miss all the things about my kids that I don't write down and I miss all the pictures of my kids too. They are all stuck on the camera and I need to put them somewhere! So I gotta get down to business and try to get this blog going. It's going to be hard because I want to catch up with everything I missed so I am going to start back in November where I left off. Good luck to anyone that might check this. Everything is going to be old news but the pictures are always super cute! So stay tuned! Here's a family picture of us just in case anyone forgot who we where!
