Makenna's Team Pictures

October 4th 2013

One fun thing that Makenna gets to do with Jazz n Place is get professional pictures taken with her team.  It's fun getting them all dressed up with their hair and make up done.  The girls are so cute and have so much fun posing for the camera.  For Makenna's team, Mini Elite, their theme was "Vintage Tea Party."  I think the girls all looked so cute dressed up fancy with lace and pearls.  Here are some pics of Makenna getting ready.

Getting her make-up done

This is her hair.  I had the girl who cuts my hair come to our house and curl her hair before pictures.  It turned out so gorgeous!

And here she is all ready for the photo shoot!  Awe, she's so beautiful!  I just cant stand it!

Okay this picture isn't clear or great or anything.  I hired and snapped it before they all stood up but I thought they all looked so cute and I can't wait to see the finished product!  This is half her team

And then these are proofs from her photo shoot.  I don't know if technically I can put them up but they say copyright across them just saying you can't print them and I'm not printing them!  :) They are so cute I just wish she didn't force her smile so much.  Oh well, she is still beyond beautiful!

Jazz n' Place Recital

June 15th 2013

This was Makenna's last and final dance performance of her dance Tangled with Mini Troupe.  I love the dance, the costume, her hair, her team and everything.  But I am getting a little tired of the same old dance.  I wish they could have learned a new one for recital or something.  But either way it has been a great experience being on her competition team and she has learned so much and she absolutely loves it!  Here are a couple pictures of her actually preforming.

I love that one of them sitting all down.  They are just so cute!  And she is the one that gets to say "5,6,7,8!" to get off the stage.  I sure am proud of her!  Way to go Makenna!

(Oh and she tried out again for the competing teams and she made Mini Elite this year!  We are so excited and proud of her.  She works really hard and loves it.)

Lagoon

June 8th

Makenna's last dance competition was at Lagoon.  It was a fun day.  We got to go and ride rides and then dance and then ride more rides!  The kids had a ton of fun and it was nice because Grandma and Grandpa Powell came to watch her.  So Wes and I snuck off and rode a couple rides.  It was a fun and busy day.  We waited around for the awards because Makenna wanted to and it took forever!  They seriously announced Makenna's category last too.  But they took 1st place which was so exciting!  We had our actual camera with us all day but of course we didn't take any pictures with it.  But here are some from my phone.  They loved the to drive the cars!

Kason cheesing it before the cars start

Kason totally got stuck right here for half the ride.  But he had so much fun!

Makenna is 6 going on 16!

update: I found some more pics from Weston's phone so I wanted to add them.  Here they are!

Dance Depot Dance Recital

May 11th 2013

This year at the Dance Depot, Makenna had Holly as her teacher and she loved it!  She was so cute with the girls and she had lots of fun music to dance to.  Makenna definitely loved going to her class.  Her dances for recital were Kids in America and Mambo #5.  She did great and it is always so much fun to watch her dance.

Brynn dressed up for the recital in one of Makenna's old leotards and tutu.  She can't wait to start dance class!

Her Mambo #5 outfit.  She loves the hat!

Grandma Powell came to watch and brought Makenna flowers.  Probably her favorite part of recital is the flowers afterwards!

A semi-family picture.  Kason wouldn't come get in it.

The four cousins that preformed that day.  Shali, Lacey, Makenna and Kyanna.

Dance Depot Dance Picture

April 2013

We are totally in the mode of dance right now.  Competitions, try-outs, stage practice's, recitals and the list goes on and on.  This little cutie keeps me so busy running her around that I have totally turned into a dance mom.  Oh well, it sure is worth it to see her do what she loves.  She has her dance recital for the Dance Depot in May but I was too excited to post a picture of her in one of her costumes.  She sure does look cute!

More pictures to come from the recital I'm sure!

Makenna's First Dance Competition

Saturday April 27th

Makenna had her first dance competition, Releve, back in April and they did awesome!  She was so excited to go out on stage and she was even the one to count to go off the stage.  Meaning after they danced she would yell "5,6,7,8" and that would give her team the cue to stand up and walk off.  She was really nervous to do it at first but she did amazing and now she's not afraid to say it anymore.  After the competition they did a master class with some boy dancer (as Makenna says) and then after that they did a dance off and then awards.  She had lots of fun and her team even placed!  They won the Pink Diamond award.  They didn't have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place so I don't know how they placed.  I do know that the White diamond was the highest award so they didn't place the highest and I know they didn't place the lowest but they did place somewhere in there.  The girls where so excited to win a trophy and it was all Makenna could talk about.  I'm glad they did well enough to get one!  It was an awesome experience for her and she just wants to keep dancing and to keep getting trophies!  So I told her to keep working hard and she will be awesome.  Here are some pictures of her dancing.  She is in the very middle.

Aren't they the cutest little dancers ever!  I love their costume and I even love their hair.  It was hard and frustrating to get that bow bun just right at first but after lots of practice I just love it!

Here are pictures of them at the awards afterwards with their trophy.  They were so proud!

(Makenna is the second one in from the right)

Thank you so much Shellie for coming and getting decent pics of her actually dancing!  My camera can't do any of that!  I think I really need to start saving up my money so I can get a nice camera to take nice pictures of her dancing!

Great job Makenna!  We are so proud of out amazing dancer! <3
